YOU ARE IMPORTANT! It is word-of-mouth, five-star ratings and Amazon/Goodreads reader reviews that make a self-published book successful. I don’t have a traditional publishing company with big money promoting my book. The editors of the ‘big 10’ companies all wanted me to ‘tone down’ my narrative, which I refused to do. My story is raw because the first half of my life was raw, and I think it is a cautionary tale about addiction and growing up lacking a moral compass. Had I allowed ‘them’ to sanitize my manuscript, it would have been a sham version of what really happened. That’s why I am counting on you to use your social media and influencer connections to keep ‘Liar, Alleged’ alive. I thank you sincerely and give you manly hugs!
More good news! The audiobook version of my book will be available by mid-December - it is hard to nail down an exact ‘live by’ date as ACX, a division of Amazon which also owns Audible, is working extra hard during this holiday season and has a rather long queue of audios to format and transfer, before mine gets to the Amazon ‘Liar, Alleged’ page, so it could be as early as the end of November or perhaps not til the middle of December. A lesson in patience – oh, how I hate those! The voice actor I was SO lucky to find, Benjamin Koenig, is an up-and-coming star on the audiobook circuit and I am counting my lucky stars I found him. More on Ben, and the audiobook version, closer to the release date. If you’ve read my book, you know it requires a fearless narrator, as the language and some of the situations are not for the faint-of-heart! He is the ‘audio hero’ to my ‘homo hobo’!
Lastly (but not leastly), I will be adding a short story to this website as my end of 2023 – beginning of 2024 gift to you. Of course, it is an adult story and with language that might make you blush, except it is really not a story; rather it is a recap of something that happened to me while walking down Lincoln Road in Miami Beach a couple months ago. And it shook me to my core. While I find humor in everything (I think it is my ‘go-to’ place when something is so awful I can’t process it unless I can ‘funny it up’), this experience…well…you’ll just have to wait til I post it. You see, I wrote it the day it occurred and within my wilderness of e-files, it has gone rogue. Fear not! I will find it soon.
